2. Overview

Protecting your data matters to us. This website is a static information site. It sets no cookies, embeds no external tracking or analytics services, and creates no user profiles. Personal data is only collected to the extent needed to run the site technically and to let you get in touch with us.

3. Hosting and server log files

The website runs on a server in Germany, hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen. When you open the site, the web server automatically processes information that your browser sends and stores it in server log files:

  • anonymised or shortened IP address
  • date and time of the request
  • the file or URL requested
  • amount of data transferred and status code
  • browser type and operating system used
  • the previously visited page (referrer), if applicable

This data is used solely to run the site securely and reliably and to prevent misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. This data is not combined with other sources. The log files are deleted after a short time, unless they are needed to investigate a security incident.

4. TLS encryption

For security, this site uses TLS encryption (shown by “https” and the padlock icon in the address bar). This means the data you send to us cannot be read by third parties.

5. Getting in touch

If you contact us by email or through the contact form, we process the data you provide (such as your name, email address and the content of your message) in order to handle your request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract, otherwise our legitimate interest in answering your request under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. We keep this data until your request has been fully dealt with and no legal retention obligations prevent deletion.

6. Sharing of data

Your personal data is not passed on to third parties, except to our hosting provider, which processes the data on our behalf and on our instructions, and where we are legally required to do so.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights:

  • access to the data stored about you (Article 15)
  • rectification of incorrect data (Article 16)
  • erasure of your data (Article 17)
  • restriction of processing (Article 18)
  • data portability (Article 20)
  • objection to processing (Article 21)

To exercise your rights, an informal message to the email address above is enough.

8. Right to complain to a supervisory authority

You have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible is generally the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg, or the authority where you usually reside.

9. Updates

We update this privacy policy whenever our data processing changes, for example when we add new features to the website.
